With temperatures barely above freezing, 200 women joined us for the second annual Dirty Chicks ATV Ride through the trails of the Sturgeon Lake area.

Women from all over the region, including places as far away as Iowa, gathered at Doc's Sports Bar late Saturday morning in preparation for a very wet, muddy, and chilly ride. Swollen streams and swamps set the trails up for extremely muddy conditions, making sure the ride would live up to its name. Some riders reported fun, yet challenging deep spots that made the ride one to remember.

Beside hitting the trails and making stops at area bars like Ray & Marge's, The Embassy, and The Bear's Den; riders donated loads of goods for WINDOW Victim Services (learn more here). Sponsor Benna Ford Rousch provided three vans to collect donated items, all of which were loaded up and taken to support the cause.

According to event coordinator Kimberly Carr, the continued growth and success has assured the event will return again next year, and her team is exploring the idea of adding more rides in other areas around the Northland.
