Composer Marvin Hamlisch has passed away from complications from a brief illness, dying yesterday in Los Angeles.

A Chorus Line.  The Sting.  The Way We Were.  Sophie's Choice.  Ordinary People.  The list of works that Hamlisch scored or worked on is a true testament to his talent.  Marvin shared a unique record with Richard Rogers;  They were the only two people to win at least one Grammy, Emmy, Tony, Oscar, and Pulitzer Prize.

Along with Broadway shows, many of Hamlisch's compostions become pop hits of the day, starting with Lesley Gore's "Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows".
