Thanksgiving Ham Or Turkey Americans Add New Choice, Turducken

I am a foodie. I know you can’t tell by looking at me, but I like food. I talk about it, I love cooking it, experimenting with it, and eating it. Maybe I like eating it too much! When Thanksgiving comes around, I look forward to the food. It is the best food for any holiday.

My ideal meal is turkey, bread or cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy,  and maybe another veggie. Smother the whole plate in gravy, and pray I don’t die of a heart attack from having 3 plates, and suffering later for eating it.

My Grandma Bertha used to make ham for the holidays and I am not a ham eater. My Dad didn’t want me to hurt my Grandma’s feelings so I ate ham every year. Every year I would eat ham I would drink 8 glasses of water from all the salt.

Some Americans are eating turducken, Turducken is a dish consisting of a deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck, which is in turn stuffed into a deboned turkey. The word turducken is a mixture of turkey, duck, and chicken. Most people make it with stuffing as part of the presentation.

John Madden used to carve up a Turducken on tv when he was a football announcer. He even promoted it. If you plan to have it, it is quite tasty, and quite easy to make. Plan on adequate preparation time. It’s a little time-consuming. The end result is worth it.
