Welcome back to the David Lee Roth interview show! Tonight’s guests include everybody’s favorite rock star duo of brotherly love. No, not Noel and Liam, it’s Eddie and Alex! Roth sits down with the Van Halen brothers for a little Q&A. Who better to dig under the surface for some historical Van Halen anecdotes than the ringleader himself?
The revitalized Van Halen are ready to light up the sky with their current tour. Even though the trek is just kicking into gear, they are already changing things up a bit. At last night’s show at The Palace Of Auburn Hills in Michigan, they dug deep into the old kit bag and pulled out ‘Girl Gone Bad.’
The sexy educator from Van Halen‘s famous ‘Hot for Teacher’ video has resurfaced. Her name is Lillian Muller and she followed her modeling career with a gig as an inspirational speaker, personal health consultant and author.
On the surface, things are going smoothly for the Van Halen reincarnate. They’ve successfully released ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ their first new album with David Lee Roth since 1984, and there is nothing to indicate anything will get in the way of their upcoming U.S. tour.
Van Halen played a 15-song “dress rehearsal” concert last night (Feb. 8th) at the Los Angeles Forum. The set included four songs from their new album ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ 10 classics and a by-all-accounts amazing Eddie Van Halen guitar solo showcase.
The long-silent Edward and Alex Van Halen have finally submitted to an interview in support of their new album ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ (reviewed here), and the correspondent they chose for this honor is none other than the one and only “Diamond” David Lee Roth, their very own lead singer.
Last night in Los Angeles, Van Halen gave critics and industry types even more reason to be optimistic about the upcoming U.S. tour. The band played for over an hour at Henson Studios in Hollywood, including three new cuts from ‘A Different Kind of Truth‘ amongst the greatest hits set list.
British fans of Van Halen can purchase two new songs from ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ which are so far unavailable in the United States. ‘Blood and Fire’ is available on the UK Amazon, as is an until now unreleased song called ‘The Trouble With Never.’
The name of ‘Blood and Fire,’ a newly-previewed song from Van Halen‘s ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ album, probably won’t ring familiar to longtime fans of the band. But Alex Van Halen’s beat and Eddie Van Halen’s noodling on the track may take some knowledgeable fans back to the mid-’80s. That’s because the new song — previewed in the video below — is based on an instrumental called ‘Ripley’ from ‘The Wild Life’ movie.
Outspoken Chickenfoot frontman Sammy Hagar has a few steadfast stances that he will never budge on. One is that Chickenfoot will never play any Van Halen or Hagar solo tracks live. Another is that air will eventually destroy us all.
