Seven-hundred cases of milk are on their way to Superior, with a planned-giveaway to happen on Wednesday January 23rd - starting at 10AM. Superior and Douglas County residents in need will be able to pick up a case or two for free, outside of the Solid Rock Mission.

The lack of good quality snow has led the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation to cancel the BirkieTour that was scheduled for this Saturday, January 19th. The Superior Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding the persons responsible for vandalism around the city and the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Superior. These vandals spray-painted graffiti on buildings and other structures.

The winter season is the middle of Fire Season - according to officials with the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross. They've had a busy season so far, and want to remind Northlanders to practice fire safety.
The local Red Cross chapter has lent assistance to a Kettle River family of four, following a fire that claimed their newly-rented home.

The Superior Police Department wants to inform the public about their response to the recent elementary school tragedy in Newtown Connecticut. Additional resources will be present at the public school locations throughout the city to help provide a safe and secure environment. Additional patrols may be visible around the various campuses and additional uniformed officers may be present in some buildings.
