Superior Spartans playing at state and they beat Fond du lac 6-3 in Madison. Spartans got two goals from Tyler Nystrom and pulled away when the game was tied 3-3.
The Superior Spartans are no strangers to the Wisconsin State Boys Hockey Tournament, having made the trip to Madison 35 times. This year's appearance marks the team's 11th in 12 seasons.
The 2013 Lake Superior All-Conference Team was recently announced, and the roster features many big names from local section playoff action. Six Hermantown Hawks, five C-E-C Lumberjacks, Four Denfeld Hunters, two Superior Spartans make up this year's first team, second team, and honorable mention.
