Officials from the Northland Chapter Of The American Red Cross are responding to the needs of three adults who were displaced from their apartment, following a major fire that destroyed a Martin Road business.  The individuals lived upstairs of the auto body shop.

Thousands of people from across nine states have taken refuge from the impact as Hurricane Sandy hits the East Coast;  The Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross is a part of the effort.  Local Red Cross volunteer Jeff Schiefelbein of Ely, Minnesota was assigned to the response effort and is now working in Mass Care in Pennsylvannia.

The Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross will present Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) to 12 different northland organizations to assure the distribution of these potential life-saving devices.

The Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting a Cloquet-area family of three that lost their home to a fire on September 19th.  Along with emergency lodging, the Red Cross is helping them get their lives back in order with food and clothing as well.
