Hurrican Sandy

The wind and rain that arrived with Hurricane Sandy earlier this week are now nothing more than a memory, but the hard work of rebuilding has just begun -- and an impressive array of rock stars are banding together to help.

It has become a rite of passage for rock fans visiting Atlantic City to get trashed at Sammy Hagar's Beach Bar & Grill. However, Mother Nature has enacted its own form of revenge, as Hurricane Sandy has wreaked considerable damage to the beachfront party spot.

Hurricane Sandy, now downgraded to a "Post-Tropical Cyclone", continues to wreak havoc along the eastern coast of the United States and Canada after making landfall yesterday afternoon. The sheer size of the storm has residents wondering, "How is Sandy effecting Duluth and Superior?" Find out how Sandy is impacting the Twin Ports.

The Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross  has sent a second volunteer to assist with Hurricane Sandy storm relief efforts.  The Duluth-based chapter has announced that Sandy Dettweiler from Brimson, Minnesota joins John Schiefelbein of Ely - who was deployed on Saturday. Photos of Hurricane Sandy flooded social media sites throughout the day Monday, with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter users in the storm's path posting dramatic photos of waves, flooding and downed trees. (Some are fake, by the way.)

Thousands of people from across nine states have taken refuge from the impact as Hurricane Sandy hits the East Coast;  The Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross is a part of the effort.  Local Red Cross volunteer Jeff Schiefelbein of Ely, Minnesota was assigned to the response effort and is now working in Mass Care in Pennsylvannia.
