After being close for well over a year, Grandmas Sports Garden, now called "The Garden" has undergone some renovations as they prepare to reopen as an event venue.
An Annual Open Style Dance Competition to honor a fallen Break-Dancer Willie Kruger, he loved all styles of dance and just believed everyone should just get along.
We had a blast last night with over 300 of the Northland's best listeners all packed in Grandma's Sports Garden for our first ever Listener Appreciation Party. The free buffet wasn't the only thing putting smiles on our faces. We got a chance to see grown men on stage rubbing midsections together in attempt to pop a balloon, our very own open mic night with wanna-be comedians, and more hula-hoop
Grandma's Marathon will have some new names appearing in the bigtop this year. Fan Fav GB Leighton will be there again this year, but check out some of the new names. You can find a rundown at the Grandma's Marathon Website, but here are the line ups.
MYNX was on hand Friday along with Hobey Baker winner Jack Connolly to sign a UMD Bulldog Jersey to help raise $4500 for the Young Survival Coalition. Kool 101.7 was there to host the event and I submit these pictures of the evening. Sorry, they are not perfect, but they were taken with my phone.

Mynx was the stuff in the 80's. I remember the battle of the bands held by KZIO at the old Miller Hill Mall and watching MYNX play. It was the first time I saw a woman playing bass or guitar.
