Nopeming Sanatorium has long held a place in the curiosity of many in the Duluth area. The building, which was built in 1912 as a tuberculosis care center, has succumb to age, Mother Nature, and vandals sneaking onto the property.
There's reason to celebrate: Three different road projects have finished and officials with St. Louis County are recognizing the completion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 26 at 10:30 A.M - on the new "Super Sidewalk" on Rice Lake Road.
There are many signs that fall is here and the seasons are changing. Along with the falling temps and leaves comes the annual mating cycle that brings deer out from the woods and into the roadways. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is calling for drivers to slow down and stay alert for deer crossing the roadways around our state - especially here in the Northland.
The season is just around the corner - and here's a great way to kick things off! The Performing Arts Student Scholarship Foundation in Superior is having their annual Breakfast with Santa - Saturday, November 19 in Cathedral of Christ the King's Kress Hall. From 8 to 12Noon, kids of all ages will have the opportunity to meet with Santa for pictures and their chance to get their Christmas list in.
