One of the leading audio brands is pulling out of the phono product category.

According to a study  by Prudential, released on this day in 2009, the average person spends $42,000 on music during their lifetime. That figure includes listening equipment (stereo,  iPods,  etc) as well as concerts, digital downloads, and Cd's. Here's the kicker. A music enthusiast (like myself) is likely to spend more than double that, just around $89,000 in their lifetime.

Over the Christmas break, I took the time to install the new under-the-cabinet radio/CD player that will replace the counter model in my kitchen.  While I was enthusiastic to reclaim some of the counter space, my excitement soon dwindled when I turned on the new stereo model;  Even though it's a brand name product, I was more than disappointed with sound quality...
