An ordinance that has been in effect since 1991 will get a review tonight at the Superior City Council meeting.  The Calendar Parking Rule that guides residents who park on the street in their neighborhood will see discussion;  at issue is the window of time that vehicle owners have to move their car from one side of the street to the other.

Every Sunday between 4:00 and 8:00 PM, drivers need to move their parked vehicle to the opposite side of the street so that it will be on the correct side for the next week.  That narrow time frame becomes an issue for some people who might be gone from their home while it occurs.

The Calendar Parking Rule was established shortly after the Halloween Megastorm to allow for easier snow removal.  It also alleviates congestion to allow for emergency vehicles (police squads, fire engines, etc) to navigate the roadway.
