The City of Superior has historically thrown one of the larger 4th of July Celebrations in the Twin Ports area and it looks like the 2016 holiday will not disappoint.  Officials that are involved with the planning have issued the details for the upcoming Independence Day.

According to their webpage, the Citizens 4th of July Committee has a full slate of activities in store with something for everyone.  Grand Marshall for the parade will be Russell Pederson - a former Prisoner of War.

The day gets underway at 11:00 AM when the parade starts.  As has been the case the last few years, the parade route will be focused along the corner of 28th and Hammond - with Heritage Park being ground zero for most of the afternoon activities.  Following the parade, the Superior Singers will perform a concert at Heritage Park starting at 1:00 PM.

As the afternoon progresses, there will also be activities in downtown Superior.  At 12:00 Noon, The Bugs will perform outside of the National Bank of Commerce;  The Bugs will perform on and off throughout the afternoon until 5:00 PM.   Then at 2:00 PM it's the annual Car Show on Tower Avenue.

The grand finale of the evening is the fireworks display - which will begin at dusk (approximately 10:00 PM).  The fireworks will be set off near the Superior Airport.
