If you’ve ever wondered what went on behind at the scenes at the police department, here’s your chance! The Superior Police Department is accepting applications for their 13th annual Citizens Police Academy.

The 8 to 9 week session begins on September 17, with classes running from 6 to 10PM on Wednesdays and one session on a Saturday morning.

Program participants will get information on many law enforcement topics as well as hands-on class experience. Police officers, evidence technicians, supervisors, and detective become teachers to give the community a better understanding of the true nature of police work.

Candidates must complete an application, live or work in Superior, and be at least 21 years old. They also must pass a basic background check and have no prior felony convistions or habitutal violations. The class is free but is limited to 25 participants. Interested persons are encouraged to register early. The application deadline is September 5.

Applications are available by clicking here. They can also be picked up at the Superior Police Department reception desk. You can also call to have one mailed to you: 715-395-7450.
