Superior Police Investigate Reports Of Gunfire Near 24th And John
The Superior Police Department continues their investigation of an incident that occurred last night (November 29th) near N 24th Street and John Avenue.
Officers responded at about 5:05 PM to reports of shots fired in the area. Initial reports indicated that an armed subject was inside a nearby resident and several possible gunshots were heard. An occupant of the residence came outside and reported several possible gunshots followed by smoke alarms going off. It was also reported that another occupant in the residence had been shouting for someone to call 911.
A short time later, a white male subject exited the home. This subject was excited and claimed that he had killed two people inside the residence. The subject was secured and officers on the scene proceeded to enter the residence. One unharmed child was located. No other persons were located and there was no evidence to indicate anyone had been harmed inside that residence. It did appear that a firearm had been discharged in the residence.
The subject – who claimed to have shot two people – was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
