Superior Business Owners Warned Of Potential Scam Involving School Calendars

The Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce is warning Superior and Twin Ports businesses of deceptive advertising practices by a company misrepresenting itself in regards to the Superior High School Athletic and Academic Department.

Specifically, the companies in question are soliciting local advertising for a school/community calendar - but without clearance from the school.  It's believed that they are downloading a logo off the school website to make their product look official, but they have not contacted the school and are not authorized to present themselves in that manner.  Businesses are thinking that they are supporting the local athletic and academic programs, but this is not the case.

To confuse the situation more, this is the time of year the Superior High School will be seeking sponsors for their athletic and academic programs for the 2013-2014 school year.  That sponsorship request will always come from Ray Kosey, not an outside source.
