If the temperatures didn't give away the fact that the season has changed, the mounting pile of leaves in your yard should; now that fall is here, it's time to get those last minute outdoor projects taken care of. The City of Superior makes it easy to dispose of raked leaves from your yard with their annual bagged leaf pickup.

Officials with the city have announced that the pickup will start this year on November 1.  The full schedule includes a variety of dates in different neighborhoods, so it's best to check for when they'll be in your area and then make sure you don't miss out.

As in years past, all leaves must be in bags that are tied at the top.  Residents are asked to leave the bags of clean leaves in the alley or street where their normal garbage collection occurs.  In addition, you're asked to make sure that the area is clear of traffic and of garbage receptacles.

The city reminds residents that the bags of leaves need to be free of other yard debris; the city will not collect bags that include wood, paper, garbage, plastic, or other items.  Bags that contain other debris will be left and disposal will be the responsibility of the property owner.

Brush and grass clippings will not be picked up.  These can be brought to the landfill.  Grass clippings are always free and brush is $8 per car, truck or trailer load. Car/truck with trailer full is $16.

Leaves can be brought to the Superior Municipal Landfill on Moccasin Mike Road, free of charge all year round.
