Superior residents who wheel their garage dumpster out to the alley for pickup before they go to work might want to make sure they make it home soon after the workday is done to retrieve it;  A new ordinance quietly went into effect on July 11, 2014 that narrows the window of time you can have a garbage dumpster out at your pick up location.

The ordinance now reads:

Collection Times. The receptacle shall be moved from the storage area to the pickup area not more than 12 hours prior to the scheduled pickup time and returned to the storage area not more than eight hours after the scheduled pickup time.

Put your garbage dumpster out for collection and work a double shift?  You're now breaking the law!

The ordinance also has some pretty specific things to say about bagging garbage and "over-stuffed" dumpsters.  Read the complete ordinance here.
