The Superior Spartans will be representing the Northland in the 2015 WIAA Boys Hockey Championship after defeating Cedarburg Friday night at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. 

Daniel Burger scored in the first period, and Jesse Polson and Matt Hinaus would score back-to--back empty net goals at the end of the third period to give the Spartans a 3-0 win. Peyton Flanders blocked all 12 shots on net, giving Superior the shutout and their first trip to the WIAA Championship since 2007.

The Spartans (13-15-1) will go on to play Wausau West (22-6-1) in the boys championship game, which will be played Saturday afternoon at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison around 2 pm (35 minutes following the girls championship game earlier in the day).
