The 'Star Wars: Episode 7' casting hasn't even been completed, with roles both major and supporting still left to be announced, so it seems a bit premature to already have the new 'Star Wars' title, but has it leaked online in advance of an official announcement?

Ain't It Cool is reporting that they've heard from multiple sources that the "working title" for 'Star Wars: Episode 7' is 'An Ancient Fear'. (Get it? 'A New Hope'...'An Ancient Fear'...) Their report says they reached out to J.J. Abrams himself for comment, but did not hear anything back (shocker).

The title allegedly refers to Max von Sydow's character, the overarching villain of the new trilogy.

How much of this you believe to be true depends largely on how much stock you put in AICN's reporting. They openly admit their editors rattled many a cage to get any kind of lead/confirmation and came up empty-handed. Anonymous sourcing - even from separate ones - is a gamble.

Back when 'The Phantom Menace' had begun filming, there were a multitude of reports "confirming" that the title was "The Balance of the Force," one that wasn't even close to the final product. It's also important to remember that, even if true, it's just a "working title," which could change at any moment given the whims of J.J. Abrams. This doesn't mean it's not fun to speculate. This is, after all, what we do.

The actual 'Star Wars: Episode 7' title is expected to be revealed at Comic-Con 2014.
