The force is almost with you. 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' which opens in theaters on December 18, 2015, officially began filming earlier this morning and we already have our first official photo tweeted from the set!

The official Twitter feed of director J.J. Abrams' production company, Bad Robot, sent out the tweet at about 6:00am London time as they kicked off day one of principal photography of 'Star Wars: Episode 7' at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

John Boyega, one of the three new leads of the film (alongside Oscar Isaac and Daisy Ridley), also sent a tweet, with the note, "Day one of episode 7! Here we go!"

UPDATE: The official 'Star Wars' Facebook page just posted a "Day One" update with this photo of Pinewood Studios in London.

Here we go, indeed. With production officially underway, now we get to the fun part. What's the movie about? Who's playing who? What crazy set photos will we find? There will certainly be a lot of news, speculation, photos, reports, rumors, excitement and more as we count down the 581 days until 'Star Wars: Episode 7' hits theaters. Hopefully, the Bad Robot and 'Star Wars' Twitter feeds will give us regular official updates from the set as we go.

Starring alongside Boyega, Isaac and Ridley are original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker, plus newcomers Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. There is also one major female role in the film that has yet to be officially announced, though with filming now underway, we can expect that news to arrive shortly.
