If you're the sort of person who actively reads the Matters of Record (and who doesn't?), then you'll want to know about a new online resource to check on the active warrants in St. Louis County.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office has now made their Active Warrant list available online and search-friendly. Their staff updates the list daily for accuracy.  The database currently lists more than 1,000 warrants that date back to December 5, 2011.  Older warrants - which number more than 5,000 - are not currently included in the online list.

Searchers will find the online database very user-friendly - with color mug shots, names, and all of the pertinent information.

While a majority of the names come from St. Louis County and Minnesota, there are names from Superior and Douglas County included.  The warrants are issued in the precinct that the crime was committed.

If you happen to find a name that you recognize, you're asked to call 911.
