Friday night I want to kick back, relax, and enjoy a little time at home on Friday night.  A great night to catch up on some shows,  get some work done, get ahead of the schedule.  We all have good intentions to get things done correctly. But then when your buddy gives you a call saying come on out we are doing a gig at Sturgeon Lake, heck that’s only 40 minutes away. Okay I’m in, let’s roll.

5 minute major is a five piece band with a female lead singer. Great band, they covered everything from Journey to country artists, simply put a great variety band, the sound was good, the solos where right on, we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Here’s the bad part of the night, there was no service at the tables whatsoever as they walked by and totally did not acknowledge us, I stopped one and asked for a beverage, and the young man just stopped, looked back and forth in bewilderment and said oh I’m kinda done just go to the bar get yourself something. Miss Kelly headed up for a beverage and came back 15 minutes later with our beverages. Strike two for service. I head up this time for a refill of refreshments as we watch the service people walk by us and take care of other tables but ours. I go to the bar order four drinks so we don’t have to make our way back and enjoy the music.

The 45 minute road trip was enjoyable with Ms. Kelly, the excitement of seeing your friend playing in the band is also exciting. The people in the bar were having a great time dancing and partying, we ourselves enjoyed our time. We finished our beverages and headed back to soup town.
