This weekend's late-season blizzard affected many things - from cancelled events and school to delayed activities.  Add one more item to the list:  garbage collection in Superior.

According to the City of Superior's Public Works Department, the heavy, wet snowstorm has delayed the schedule for garbage collection  this week for some residents. Homeowners whose usual collection date is Monday will not have their garbage picked up today; those residents should have their garbage cart out to the usual spot by Tuesday - 7:00 AM.

All other residents can plan on their garbage being collected on the usual day.  The one-day delay for Monday pickups is two-fold:  to better utilize staff for snow removal and to allow graders and snowplows the chance to get snow cleaned up.

Usually, snow storms don't affect garbage collection - holidays do.  However, this late-season blizzard was exceptionally fierce - leaving city services doing all they can to stay ahead of the snow collection.
