"Foodie's" looking for places to visit while on vacation can add one more place to their list:  Smithfield, Virginia.  Long a pork-lovers paradise as home to the company that produces Smithfield Hams, there's now a restaurant/retail shop there, too that's luring customers in.

The move is an innovative marketing tactic that sounds "delicious"!  Customers can dine in or grab-and-go from a full menu of options that feature Smithfield products.

Smithfield Foods is a $13 billion global food company and the world's largest pork processor and hog producer. In the United States, the company is also the leader in numerous packaged meats categories with popular brands including Farmland(R), Smithfield(R), Eckrich(R), Armour(R) and John Morrell(R).

[EDITORS NOTE:  I couldn't let this post go by without adding my two cents about Smithfield products - especially their Farmland brand.  As the resident "foodie" in the building, I often get asked about food ingredients, techniques, and brands.  Farmland is the brand I seek out and trust for bacon, ham, and pork products.  In Northland, you can readily find this brand in your favorite store - and they are a high-quality product at a fair price]
