That cat sculpture, the vase Grandma gave you, or that old painting you don't think looks good anywhere. They might all be worth money. Bring your antique/collectible item to the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center (the Depot) for a free appraisal.
When I was a kid, it was unheard of to buy a costume for Halloween, but there wasn't much available. If it was, it was very costly. Now, you can buy anything and be anyone for Halloween. Most kids, mine included, keep the costumes and dress up as that character year round. We were also some thing for the holiday that might not work now.
Look for Boy Scouts and volunteers at your local grocery store on Saturday, October 28th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the "Scouting for Food" Food Drive. This week's picks for the NFL by the KOOL Schwamee look good for the underdogs, but bad for the Packer fans. The Minnesota Vikings have a tough game this week and didn't play well last week. The KOOL Schwamee says it doesn't matter they will take it.
