Sherry Rodriguez Re-Appointed St. Louis County’s Veterans Service Officer

With a unanimous vote, St. Louis County Commissioners approved the re-appointment of Sherry Rodriguez as the county's Veterans Service Officer.  The position is an important one in the northland, overseeing the staff that serves veterans out of offices in Duluth, Virginia, Hibbing, and Ely.  As their point of contact, the Veterans Service Officer assists veterans in navigating the necessary paperwork to receive the benefits they've earned.

Rodriguez was originally installed in the role back in 2012.  State statute requires the position be reappointed by the County Board every four years.

St. Louis County is home to 18,789 veterans - who received nearly $106.5-million in Veterans Administration (VA) benefits in 2014 - the most recent year that results were tabulated.
