The winter storm warning for our area remains in effect until 7 pm Friday night. With upwards of 7 inches having fallen in areas from the Twin Ports and south, snow-covered roads, blowing and drifting snow, and ongoing new snow are making for a messy Friday.

What to Expect

The Twin Ports have reported measurements of 4-7 inches of snow on the ground so far from the overnight snowfall, leading to several school closings and other weather-related announcements. Snow will continue to fall through the day today, slowly tapering off as the day progresses. At this time, it appears snow will taper off late Friday afternoon, bringing 2-4 additional inches of snowfall before snow subsides.

Breezy conditions will continue as this storm moves through the area, leading to blowing and drifting snow, and making for poor driving conditions. Caution is advised as you head out this morning.

Snow will remain moderate through the morning hours, and taper off as the day progresses. The morning commute will be messy, but conditions will slowly improve as the day goes on, snow tapers off, and roads get cleared.
