Several school districts throughout America are demanding teachers to dress more appropriately starting with the upcoming school season.

No more outlandish hairstyles, tattoos, or body piercings. Jeans are out and so are skinny straps. Teachers argue all of the above are forms of self expression, and not allowing them is an infringement on their rights.

Parents have a say in this as well, and  have complained to school authorities about teachers in cutoff shorts, pajama pants, or flip flops.

Somewhere along the line I think teachers have lost their way, and are failing to realize they influence their students not only by what they teach, but also by the way they conduct themselves, including  proper attire during school hours.

We employ teachers to educate our children. Perhaps they should leave their forms of "self expression" to their personal time off, away from school property.
