Sammy Hagar Reveals Artwork and Details of New Album
Sammy Hagar is going all out for his first solo record in five years.
The new album, ‘Sammy Hagar & Friends’ (due Sept. 24 on Frontiers Records), finds Hagar hosting an all-star party in the studio, with each of the record’s 10 tracks offering an appearance by at least one special guest, many of whom are veterans of his previous projects.
‘Sammy Hagar & Friends’ is also being offered in a Deluxe Edition package that will include a bonus live track (‘Space Station #5,’ recorded at the Ronnie Montrose Tribute Concert with Denny Carmassi, Bill Church and Joe Satriani) and a DVD with a making-of documentary and video for the set’s leadoff single, ‘Knockdown Dragout’ (featuring Carmassi, Satriani and Kid Rock).
Hagar had already announced the involvement of a number of the guests, including Kid Rock, Journey‘s Neal Schon, Chickenfoot‘s Chad Smith and Joe Satriani and members of Montrose; he’s now finalized the complete lineup, which also includes Toby Keith, Mickey Hart and Taj Mahal.
