If you're looking for grant money for a renewable energy project, you should know that the deadline for grant money from the United States Department of Agriculture's Rural Energy For America Program has been extended - and that there are additional funds available.

The new deadline is May 31, 2013 to facilitate the fact that the available funding has been tripled.  Funding has gone from $20 million to $60 million for qualifying applications.

Grants from the USDA cover up to 25% of renewable energy project costs.  Projects could be as simple as a solar-powered electric fence to a more-complex, major ideas that replace energy use.
