A popular scenic highway in the Northland is going to see some roadwork - and temporary closures - for the remainder of the summer.  County State Aid Highway 7 - which runs parallel to Highway 53 from Duluth to the Iron Range - will get some much-needed reclaim and overlay work.  In order to accommodate the work crews, portions of the roadway will be closed to traffic.

For the first two weeks of the project, Highway 7 will be closed between Swan Lake Road in Alborn to County Highway 133 east of Meadowlands.  This total road closure is expected to be done by the end of May.

After that, the rest of the road work will be accomplished through lane closures.  Drivers should expect delays.  County officials suggest Highway 53 as the detour.
