Drummers are the Rodney Dangerfield of rock. From jokes like, “What did the drummer get on his IQ test?” (answer: drool) to the mock tragedies that befell Spinal Tap’s myriad timekeepers, drummers get no respect. However, a new list shows that many of them are laughing all the way to the bank.

Celebrity Net Worth has posted the net worth of the 30 richest drummers, based on publicly available information. Perhaps not surprisingly due to the perpetual success of the Beatles, Ringo Starr tops the list with a net worth estimated at $300 million. Despite having announced his retirement in 2011, Phil Collins is in second place with $250 million, presumably through songwriting royalties from all of his hits. Dave Grohl and Don Henley, who also have penned a few popular tunes in their day, aren’t too far behind Collins in third and fourth place, respectively.

Members of bands that command top dollar on the road also place very high. Lars Ulrich of Metallica ($75 million), U2‘s Larry Mullen, Jr. ($150 million) and Joey Kramer of Aerosmith ($100 million) are also in the Top Ten.

And if you want to see what all that money can buy you, Max Weinberg of Bruce Springsteen‘s E Street Band (23rd place, $35 million) recently displayed his 16.2-acre, $4.85 million mansion in Middletown, N.J. on an episode of LX.TV’s ‘Open House NYC.’
