Bayfront Festival Park was alive with music Thursday night as three acts entertained thousands of fans on a gorgeous night. Regional cover band favorites MYNX warmed the crowd up, and The Romantics set the stage for the night's headliner with a set that included their hit songs “Talking in Your Sleep” and “What I Like About You."

After a bit of a lull following The Romantics, Rick and his band took the stage to the roar of fans excitedly awaiting his appearance. “Living in Oz” and “I’ve Done Everything For You” opened a set that also included a cover of Katy Perry's pop hit "Roar" and other Springfield classics like "Don’t Talk to Strangers" and "Jessie's Girl".

At one point mid-set, Springfield commented on the crowd and town; saying it wasn't the small and sleepy town he was expecting to see. He referred to the vibe as "Haight-Ashbury in the ’60s", and talked about the tattooed women he's seen around town and name-dropped The Electric Fetus (as seen in the video below). He transitioned to his next song in the set, "Our Ship's Sinking" after paying a brief homage to Lake Superior and her shipwrecks.
