A mid-morning fire at an Iron Range landmark has affected residents of the upper-level apartments.  Officials with the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross are at the scene at the Sportsman's Cafe - on Howard Street in downtown Hibbing.

The seven-alarm fire has affected 15 people who rented apartments above the popular eatery.

At this point there is no word as to what the potential damage to the restaurant might be - or what the cause of the blaze was.

The Red Cross reminds everyone that heating season is sadly also "fire season".  They suggest that everyone practice fire safety procedures.
