Watermelon Slim is quite a character as you'll soon find out when you listen to the radio interview. Watermelon Slim started recording in 1973, and is still going strong today. He drove truck for many years while recording and touring with his band Watermelon Slim & The Workers. He retired from trucking in 2004 to concentrate on music and touring full time. Watermelon Slim has won numerous awards over the years including seventeen awards from the Blues Foundation, and nomination for the W.C. Handy Award.
