The work that was originally to have started this week at the intersection of Highway 7 and Highway 101 west of Eveleth has been postponed.  Unforeseen scheduling conflicts have moved the three day project's start date to next week - December 5-7.

The CN Railroad will be doing repair work on a railroad crossing that travels through the intersection of Highway 7 and 101.  In order to allow the crews the opportunity to complete the job, traffic will be impacted for a few days - according to St. Louis County officials.

Vehicles traveling north or south on Highway 7 will be able to make a right turn only at the intersection for the duration;  these vehicles will not be able to go straight through or turn left.  Meanwhile, the intersection will be completely closed to vehicles traveling east and west on Highway 101.

The crossing surface of the track will be completely replaced by CN employees.  The intersection is expected to re-open by the evening of December 7.
