Crews are making progress on the project in downtown Duluth.  In order to perform necessary valve and connection installations, city crews will have to temporarily shut down water service for businesses and residents on the 200 block of West Michigan starting at 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 7.  Officials are asking the you cease water usage after 4:00 PM on that date.

The city has noted that several buildings on that block will not be affected, due to their water connection tieing into the pipes that run under Superior Street - instead of Michigan.  The following buildings will not be affected by the water shutdown, and will have water service this weekend:  Wells-Fargo Building, Sellwood Building, Crescent Building, Minnesota National Bank Building, and the Superior Street DTA Building.

Water service to the affected buildings is expected to resume as of 5:00 AM on Monday, May 9.
