Pope’s Twitter Account Stays Active Following Abdication, Tweets From Benedict And Picture Deleted

Chalk it up to what happens in  the digital age;  When Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI left the papacy today, folks wondered what would happen to the Vatican’s official Twitter account.

Now we know.

Immediately after Benedict left the Vatican, his picture and the Tweets he sent were deleted off of the landing page – replaced with the empty coat of arms of See of Rome.

However, all is not lost.  The Vatican has archived the 39 Tweets, which are still available here.
