Police Search Woman Missing From Ashland County Music Fest

Police continue their search for Jody Lynn Newberry - the woman missing since last Thursday; to expand their search area and to look for possible leads, they've gone to social media to ask for help from the general public.

The 54-year old Newberry hails from Bergland, Michigan.  She left her home last Thursday with intentions of attending the Mellen Jam Music Festival. At some point in the travels, she became separated from her male companion on Saturday and has not been seen since.

According to authorities, here are some details and characteristics of the missing woman:

• Height:  5' 3"
• Weight:  115
• Hair:  Brown
• Eyes: Brown
• Features:  Usually wears wire-rimmed glasses; missing several teeth

The Mellen Jam Music Festival was held on private property along Gilgren Road.  Ashland and Sawyer County authorities conducted  a search on the property, but have turned up no signs of Newberry.  A K9 team was also used in  the wooded areas nearby.
