This last weekend I was able to have my niece Lilli and nephew William for the day and with great weather we head to our nearby school yard to goof around, we had a blast.

So when we get home, we go and wash up and get ready for a snack and movie, I realize William was quite clean for being a 4 year old outside in a playground. This reminded me about the questions being brought up about the rubber mulch many of the playgrounds in the area have.
With the black dust covering the kids, there are health concerns local parents are bringing up and wanting a change out the mulch. The concept was great, re-purpose old tires for a cleaner environment and fewer serious injuries in our play grounds. So yes it helped with injuries but the chemicals in the rubber at first was deemed safe, but now stories and reports of health issues are popping up.
I would say I like the wood the best, I do not enjoy the smell that the rubber mulch gets and how dirty the kids get. Take a look at our local DNT story and a NBC story on this and leave your thoughts below.
