Northland Chapter Of The American Red Cross Responds To Kettle River Fire

Source: The Eggplant via flickr

The local Red Cross chapter has lent assistance to a Kettle River family of four, following a fire that claimed their newly-rented home.

Officials with the Red Cross remind Northlanders that we are in the heart of fire season. There is a correlation between winter and an increase in fires – with heating sources and candles the main sources.

Everyone is reminded to practice safe procedures with candles – never leaving them unattended.  In addition, make sure that the batteries in your smoke detectors are fresh.
