The National Football League announced today in a statement that it will team up with CBS to produce and televise Thursday Night Football Broadcasts for the 2014 season in conjunction with the NFL Network.

The partnership breaks a 16-game schedule into two parts; the first 8 games of the season will be broadcast on both CBS and the NFL Network simultaneously, and the NFL Network will then exclusively carry the second half of the season leading up to the playoffs, which includes two Saturday night matchups.

The 16-game broadcast schedule will feature CBS's lead NFL broadcast team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms with the call of the game; but pregame, halftime, and postgame commentary will feature a blend of CBS and NFL Network personalities.

The agreement covers the 2014 season with the NFL holding an option for the 2015 season.
