What's the old saying about knee-high corn by the 4th of July?  That same principle could be applied to roadside weeds and vegetation;  by this point of the summer season, a lot of ditches are filled with overgrowth.  What you may not know or be aware of is that some of these weeds have the potential to be toxic even through skin contact.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is warning people about the hidden dangers that could await alongside the road. They've taken to their social media to alert the general public.

At the same time, MNDOT has published a complete guide to noxious weeds that populate ditches and roadways in the state.  The 74-page guide - complete with color pictures - offers tips for identification, steps for eradication (if possible), and the ways in which some of them could harm human beings.
