MNDOT Invites Schools And Communities To Apply For Grant Money To Fund Safe Routes To School Bicycle Fleets
If you're a parent of a school-age child in Minnesota - or - if you're a school administrator, here's something you may want to know about. The Minnesota Department of Transportation is offering grant money to help fund safe routes for school programs that focus on bicycles.
It's part of the states' Walk! Bike! Fun! curriculum. Teachers and schools can apply for the money to help buy a bicycle fleet, trailers, and the supplies needed to teach bicycle safety.
The program is aimed at students in grades 4-8.
Eligible schools include public schools in Minnesota, cities, counties, federally-recognizes tribes, non-profit organizations, commissions, or metropolitan planning agencies.
