Minnesota Vikings Trade Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks for Draft Picks

Vikings fans don’t have to wonder any longer whether or not Percy Harvin will be in a a Vikings uniform next year.
Multiple reports from sources around the league are reporting that the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks have engineered a deal sending Harvin to Seattle with Minnesota getting three draft picks in return. FOX Sports analyist Jay Glazer broke the story on Twitter.

Glazer followed up by offering draft pick details, saying the Vikings will get Seattle’s 2013 first round and seventh round picks, plus a “mid round pick” in the 2014 draft.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reports the deal should be done within the next 48 hours, and should include at least Seattle’s first round pick.

The Seahawks have the 25th pick in the first round, which would give the Vikings both the 23rd and the 25th pick in the first round.
Harvin has been with the Vikings for four seasons, contributing 280 catches for 3,302 yards and 20 touchdowns. Beside his receiving duties, he returned 114 kickoffs that included 5 returned for touchdowns.
His elusive and explosive capabilities on offense make him something the Vikings offense will sorely miss, especially considering the team’s gaping holes at the position. While his talents will be missed, it is no secret he and the coaching staff were regularly at odds with each other. The consistent flare-ups, including a tantrum thrown during last year’s preseason activities, fueled the early speculation the front office would look to move Harvin this offseason.
The Harvin trade and release of Michael Jenkins from the roster earlier this offseason, puts the team in a position where making a big splash in in free agency and having another successful draft are necessary for the team to improve.
