Here's a heads-up for people that buy those gourmet spreads usually found in the deli or specialty food section at the grocery store:  a brand of cheese-yogurt spread is being recalled due to a risk of contamination from the listeria bacteria.

Picnic Gourmet Foods is recalling containers of their product.  All six varieties that they distribute to stores are involved - including Red Pepper Feta Cheese Spread, Moroccan Cilantro Cheese Spread, Tandoori Garlic Cheese spread, Herbed Goat Cheese, Parmesan Cheese Spread, and Chipotle Sage Cheese Spread.

The product in question is sold in various states - including Minnesota - and has a "best by" date of October 6.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends that consumers who have these products should throw them away immediately.
