One of Minnesota's iconic gas stations/convenience stores has a new owner.  Canadian-based Couche-Tard (which operates the Circle K brand) has announced that they have arranged a deal to purchase Holiday Station Stores from the Erickson family that has operated it since its inception in 1928.

The move brings the 522 locations into Couche-Tarde's existing base of almost 12,000 stores throughout the United States and the rest of the world.

At this time, the company expects to maintain it's Minnesota presence by keeping Holiday's corporate offices in St. Paul.

It's interesting to point out that this is the second big deal for the Ericksons in the past year.  The family was also part owner of the consortium that just sold off it's interests in Gander Mountain.
