How about one more big snow event for good measure? Whether or not you like it, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning effective from 7:00 am Wednesday through 10:00 am Thursday.

Snow, blowing and drifting, and more snow are the name of the game for the next day or so. The initial band of snow will push into the Twin Ports this morning moving from south to north, with the heaviest snowfall expected Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Along with heavy snow, windy conditions that include gusts up to 40 mph will make for poor visibility and drifting snow. Road conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly as this storm moves into, and through the area.

8-12 inches of snow is expected in an area from Little Falls toward the Twin Ports, with heavier snow between 12 and 15 inches in an area from Hinckley into Northern Wisconsin.

This storm will add to snowfall totals that already rank in the top ten all-time for Duluth. Click the button below to see where we currently sit, and to see how much this storm could bring us up the list.
