As is the usual custom in relation to holidays, the upcoming observance of Memorial Day will alter the garbage collection schedule for residents who live in Superior and have their trash picked up by the city.  Officials with the City of Superior released the information on their website.

On Monday, May 28 all city offices will be closed - including the Public Works Department and the Municipal Landfill.  Accordingly, there will not be garbage collection on that date.  Residents who usually get their garbage picked up on Monday's should have their trash dumpster at the usual spot on Tuesday morning by 7:00 AM.  All other collection days will remain the same for the rest of the week (i.e. Tuesday pick up will remain on Tuesday, Wednesday on Wednesday, and so forth).  The city does want to alert residents that there may be delays in the usual pick up time - even if your day wasn't changed.

As far as recycling - which is handled by Hartels/DBJ, the schedule will be delayed by one day on the Memorial Day holiday.  Residents with further questions are directed to call Hartels/DBJ directly at 218-729-5446.
